10:00  Panakolada – Steel Drums & Hawaiian Music
 There is no more appropriate place to enjoy the tropical sounds of Panakolada steel drums than on the Island. Panakolada will provide kick off EarthDays 2009 with style and tropical sounds.

12:30  Royal Polynesian Review – Polynesian Dancers
 The Royal Polynesia Review provided by Donna Marie’s School of Dance will make you think your luau is about to begin. With authentic costumes and island choreography we will transport you to the Aloha state.

1:30  Trinity 7 – Reggae & Island Music
 Trinity 7 is the best roots reggae band based in our Tampa Bay area. They believe music should be a source of inspiration.  and this talented group delivers that in style. 

3:30   Juniper – Celtic & Alternative Folk Music
 Juniper weaves a tight tapestry of haunting melodies and lush harmonies.  Sprinkle in some fiery rhythms and compelling vocals and you have the unique sound which transports Juniper’s fans to ancient time with jigs, reels & airs then bring them back with their original Alternative Folk compositions. 

4:45  Stumpy Needs Squid – Band – Acoustic & Electric Flavors
 This band cooks up a unique musical stew using both acoustic and electric flavors.  Spiced with liberal doses of guitar, bass, vocals, mandolin, ukulele, harmonica and percussion and topped with lyrical insight, it's a recipe for an upbeat treat that'll keep you coming back for more.

9:30  John Shaw –Steel Drum at Kayak Races on the Beach
 John is the top percussionist with the Florida Symphony Orchestra – need we say more. 

10:30  Emmet Bondurant – Bagpiper
 The beautiful sounds of the pipes will welcome EarthDay visitors with a “wee taste of the Scottish Highlands!”

11:00  John Shaw – Steel Drum - Florida Orchestra Percussionist
 Encore on stage and watch him make those Steel Drums sing.

12:00  Jim Bement – Irish & Scottish Music
 If you know Flanagan’s in Dunedin, you will remember the Irish and Scottish tunes of this talented musician. Let us take you to the Emerald Isle!

1:50  Kay T. Bannon – Storyteller
 Kay will weave tales and entertain all with her special talent as a renowned Storyteller.

2:05  Mark Mann – Acoustic & Island Music
 Locals follow this musician to hot spots like Ozona Blue or The Thirsty Marlin to enjoy an evening of Mark Mann and his Key West style. We bring him back yearly as a special treat for you!

4:00  Maria Valentine – Harpist
 Maria is a talented harpist with years of musician performances on the Islands of Hawaii.  After a weekend of fun in the sun – Marie will transport us away with her extraordinary talent.

Whatever your musical tastes, we offer an inexpensive way to enjoy a tropical weekend in our own backyard.  Enjoy tasty treats, shop unique vendors, learn about Florida nature and then relax to the myriad sounds and sights being offered on stage at EarthDays 2009.  . Be prepared to be transported to “The Islands” this April 18th and 19th, right here on our own Honeymoon Island.

Build a Boat in a Day for Children

Saturday, April 18, 2009, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Honeymoon Island State Park at Island EarthDays

This activity for parents and their children or grandparents and their grandchildren involves building an eight-foot, flat-bottom, wooden boat to take home and paint and fix up any way they want.

Participants build with a pre-cut, marine plywood kit and stitch and epoxy the pieces together. All materials, needed tools and plans are provided, and a volunteer is available to help each team. Each boat-building team consists of one or two parents or grandparents and one or two children ages 8-13. Each team is limited to no more than four people.

Two boat-building groups are scheduled for Saturday, April 18, 2009, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. at Honeymoon Island State Park at Island EarthDays. If desired, participants may return on Sunday afternoon to complete construction of the boat. Classes cost $300.00, which includes all materials, except paint.

· Take a guided walk in the woods and Discover the wild side of nature on the Osprey Trail.
· Take a guided walk to the lagoon and beach and learn about shells, critters and beach life.

· Learn about the variety of animals, plants and scenic areas of the park.
· Visit the historic Honeymoon Cottage replica.
· Experience Caladesi Island's homestead era through historic photographs.
